Our mission is to uphold the original intent of the CC&R’s by facilitating the eventual return of the Nordic Ranches water system to the community. We believe in community ownership and operation, ensuring that residents have control over this vital resource. The creation of the district was a significant step towards this goal, providing us with the opportunity to safeguard the water system for future generations.

Since the establishment of the district, we have been dedicated to serving the community’s best interests. Conducting a Level 1 water study was a crucial initiative, allowing us to assess the health of the water system and position ourselves for potential grants and loans that will support its maintenance and improvement.

We take pride in our efforts to protect the community from unfair rate increases. In 2019, our organized community successfully intervened in the Public Service Commission rate increase proposed by Nordic Ranches Water LLC. Despite their request for a substantial increase, we advocated for a much lower rate, ensuring that residents are not burdened with excessive costs. Additionally, we challenged the practice of charging users to pay for private loans obtained by the company, advocating for greater transparency and fairness in billing practices.

Our work doesn’t stop with past victories. Nordic Ranches Water LLC can request rate increases every four years, and our board is committed to vigilant monitoring to safeguard the community’s interests. We remain proactive in advocating for fair treatment and reasonable rates for all users.

We believe that access to clean and affordable water is a fundamental right. Through community collaboration and advocacy, we strive to ensure that this essential resource remains accessible to all residents of Nordic Ranches.
